Georgian Adult Education Network (GAEN) was established in 2014 with the support of the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association DVV International Georgian Office. GAEN unites organizations having similar understanding of the values and advantages of Adult Education for poverty reduction, civic engagement and community development in Georgia. Presently, GAEN unites ten adult/community education centers in seven regions of Georgia: Achara, Guria, Samegrelo-Zemo-Svaneti, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti and Samtkhe-Javakheti and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions. GAEN members are: Keda, Chokhatauri, Senaki, Jvari, Leliani, Koda, Sahaumiani, Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ambrolauri Adult/Community Education Centers. Since 2006 these organizations have been successfully implementing adult education projects in their respectful regions and support to community development. The Adult /Community Education Centers' role are especially important in socio-economic advancement and integration of the most disadvantaged population of the targeted regions.
